I worked with Density to design the Waffle Sensor, a compact self-installable device that makes workplace analytics simple and scalable. My role focused on creating a form that balances functionality, privacy, and affordability while also feeling approachable and modern. Inspired by radar and satellite forms, Waffle’s circular design reflects its purpose of sensing invisible data. Soft curves and crisp details give it a quiet confidence, allowing it to blend into its surroundings while hinting at the advanced tech within. It’s a strong example of how thoughtful design can translate complex challenges into intuitive and user-friendly solutions.

I designed the wall mount to be incredibly simple, so simple that you can install it with one hand. Embedded magnets align the mount and sensor at a 30º angle, then a simple clockwise twist locks them together. A small set screw on the bottom securely fastens the sensor and mount for added tamper resistance.
Desk Mount
I carried the same magnet and tab locking system over to the desk mount. The parts effortlessly snap and twist together, creating a seamless and polished look.

Packaging
I wanted to design a unique, efficient, and simple way for the corrugated insert to present and secure the sensor. The 'rising sun' motif elegantly showcases the sensor while keeping it snug during transportation.
Unboxing
I designed an accessory tray to keep the screws, wall command strips, and hex key organized and easily accessible. Below, custom cutouts hold the cable and wall adapter. My goal was to create an efficient and functional layout while maintaining a clean, polished presentation.
